Well, another Collins Foundation Golf Tournament has come and gone. In 2001 we were blessed with fabulous weather again and a course in great condition. More than 120 golfers took part in this years tournament with varying degrees of success as usual. One thing that was certainly a success for all was a great time, good food and drink, and the blessing of enjoying the company of so many old friends.
Thanks to the generosity of our wonderful sponsors and all those who participated The Collins Foundation raised $22,000 at this years event. Thanks to the generosity of The Shepherd Foundation we will be donating some $38,000 to nine Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese of Washington to be used to further the education of deserving students.
There are far too many people to recognize for all of their hard work and dedication in putting this event together. Suffice it to say that the board of directors is grateful to all who helped in the planning and execution of this event, all who participated and helped make it such a great success, and most of all our sponsors whose generosity helped us to our most successful events yet. We can only hope that we will see you all next year and that we will set still another record . We'll see you all May 10, 2002.
